Product Detail: |
MaxSignal Saxitoxin (PSP) ELISA Test Kit is a competitive enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative analysis of Saxitoxin in mussels and water samples. Saxitoxin, the principal component of paralytic shellfish poisons (PSP), blocks the sodium ion channels in nerve and muscle membranes. The lethal dose in humans is 1 to 3 mg. Numbness and respiratory paralysis can occur after oral ingestion of as little as 0.5 - 1.0 mg saxitoxin.
BENEFITS:- Sensitive Saxitoxin detection 1.2 ppb detection limit Faster results less than 1.5 hours from sample to results Saves money - No expensive instrumentation required Easy, high recovery sample preparation Consistent, reproducible results |

Product Detail: |
The MaxSignal Okadaic Acid (DSP) ELISA Test Kit is a competitive enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative analysis of okadaic acid in mussels and water samples. Okadaic acid (OA) is one of the diarrheic shellfish poisons (DSP) produced by the dinoflagellate genera Dinophysis and Prorocentrum. There are a number of chemically different toxins associated with DSP. They are lipophilic and polyether compounds and can be divided into three main groups: Acidic toxins - OA and its derivatives, dinophysistoxins (DTX1, DTX2, DTX3) Neutral toxins - pectenotoxin group (PTXs) Other toxins - yessotoxin (YTX) and its derivative
The MaxSignal Okadaic Acid (DSP) ELISA Test Kit a competitive colorimetric ELISA assay. The drug of interest has been coated in the plate wells. During the analysis, sample is added along with the primary antibody specific for the target drug. If the target is present in the sample, it will compete for the antibody, thereby preventing the antibody from binding to the drug attached to the well. The secondary antibody, tagged with a peroxidase enzyme, targets the primary antibody that is complexed to the drug coated on the plate wells. The resulting color intensity, after addition of substrate, has an inverse relationship with the target concentration in the sample.
Contamination of shellfish with OA has been associated with harmful algal blooms throughout the world. In humans, DSP causes dose-dependent symptoms of diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. The action level established by the FDA for OA is 0.2 ppm. The EU has established a level of 160 µg/kg of OA or its equivalents.
This kit is manufactured to the international quality standard ISO 9001:2008. ISO CI#: SARA-2009-CA-0114-02-A [BENEFITS] : - Rapid and cost-effective extraction methods that only require 10 - 30 minutes High recovery rates >80% High sensitivity (0.3 ppb) Low detection limit (30 ppb for mussel samples and 6 ppb for water samples) A quick ELISA assay (less than 1.5 hours regardless of number of samples) High reproducibility

Product Detail: |
The MaxSignal Domoic Acid (ASP) ELISA Test Kit is a competitive enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative analysis of Domoic Acid in mussels, algae and water samples. This kit is based on a competitive colorimetric ELISA assay. The second antibody against Anti-Domoic Acid Antibody was coated in the plate wells. During the analysis, sample is added along with the Domoic Acid-horseradish peroxidase conjugate (Domoic Acid-HRP Conjugate) and Anti- Domoic Acid Antibody. If the Domoic Acid residue is present in the sample, it will compete with Domoic Acid-HRP Conjugate for the Anti-Domoic Acid Antibody, thereby preventing the Domoic Acid-HRP Conjugate from binding to the Anti-Domoic Acid Antibody. The Anti-Domoic Acid Antibody is then bound by the second antibody immobilized on the plate. After a washing step and addition of the TMB substrate solution, a color signal is produced. The color reaction is stopped after a specified time and the color is evaluated using an ELISA reader. The resulting color intensity has an inverse relationship with the domoic acid residue concentration in the sample.
Domoic acid and its isomers are water-soluble neurotoxins produced by a number of marine algae, in particular by the microalgae of the genus Pseudo-nitzschia. Blooms of Pseudo-nitzschia spp. may lead to the accumulation of domoic acid in shellfish filter feeders and other marine species. Ingestion of domoic acid contaminated shellfish may cause human illness called amnesic shellfish poisoning (ASP) by affecting the central nervous system. ASP has caused the death of both animal and human consumers in severe cases. The European Commission Directive 2002/226/EC implemented a domoic acid maximum permitted level (MPL) of 20 ppm (mg/kg) in shellfish intended for human consumption. This MPL is adopted by the regulatory authorities in most other countries.
[BENEFITS] : - Rapid (10 - 30 minutes), cost-effective extraction methods that offer > 80% recovery rates High sensitivity - 0.125 ppb Low detection limit - 30 ppb for mussel samples and 6 ppb for water samples Fast - less than 1.5 hours regardless of number of samples High reproducibility |
