Product Detail:	Anti-NCAM (Clone ERIC-1)
Background Info:	Neural cell adhesion molecule (NCAM) is a homophillic binding glycoprotein of the Immunoglobulin (Ig) superfamily. NCAM is present on a variety of neural cells including neurons, glia and skeletal muscle. However it is also found in other cells such as hematopoietic cell types including natural killer cells. NCAM has been implicated as having a role in cell-cell adhesion, neurite outgrowth, synatptic plasticity, learning and memory and in the development of the nervous system. When used in Western Blot (WB) this antibody (ERIC-1) has been shown to detect 3 bands at 120, 140 and 180 kDa. This has been shown in both mouse and in human brain samples (weakly in Human).
